Grinding
Centerless grinding, CNC grinding (plunge & angle), internal & surface grinding, lapping, honing and microfinishing — all performed in-house at TCS.
Finish and precision, in the same facility.
Grinding at TCS covers a set of named in-house processes: Centerless Grinding, CNC Grinding (Plunge & Angle), Internal & Surface Grinding, Lapping, Honing, and Microfinishing.
These processes are part of the more than 32 manufacturing processes fully-integrated in house at TCS, so a part that's machined, heat treated, and ground to final size and finish never has to leave the Rock Valley facility. That keeps complex, multi-operation components accountable to one supplier instead of being handed off between shops for completion.
Centerless, CNC, and internal/surface grinding in-house.
TCS's grinding operations run centerless grinding, CNC grinding with plunge and angle capability, internal and surface grinding, lapping, honing and microfinishing side by side with the shop's machining, heat treating and inspection operations.
Specific machine brands and models aren't published; what's confirmed is the named process list and that these operations run as part of the same integrated facility as the rest of a part's build.

Matched to the application.
Material selection is driven by each application's engineering requirements — TCS's engineering team helps source, test, and qualify materials for your specific application.
Where ground parts end up.
Shafts and splined components finished by grinding are common in two of TCS's core markets.
Built to check splines, gears, and hardness.
Because grinding often finishes splined and geared parts, TCS's in-house quality systems include spline and gear checking capabilities and micro-hardness testing, alongside Vision and CMM measurement systems and an SPC network.
